Dr. Maria (Mima) Petrick joined Allergy & Asthma Adult and Pediatric Medical Group of the Redwoods in January of 2015, shortly before the practice changed names to FamilyCare Allergy & Asthma. Dr. Petrick is a board-certified allergist and a Fellow of both the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (FACAAI, FAAAAI). She is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Prior to her arrival, from 2007-2014 she served as a partner and board-certified allergist in Louisville, KY at one of the nation’s leading allergy, asthma, and immunology groups.  Prior to that, she had practiced as an allergist in Los Alamos, New Mexico. 

She was raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and attended Memphis State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1987. Dr. Petrick went on to earn her Master of Arts in Teaching in 1988 and taught science for three years before attending the University of Tennessee-Memphis School of Medicine. During her summer breaks, Dr. Petrick served as a Ranger in The National Park Service.

After completing medical school, she served her internship and residency in internal medicine at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Petrick evaluated select allergy/immunology programs throughoutthe country and was very pleased to be accepted to her top choice, St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Petrick and her family, which includes husband John and their two dogs Zack and Zoe, reside in Sonoma County and enjoy an active outdoor-oriented lifestyle that includes travel, hiking, and the culinary arts.
